A cooperative network?

Our strength is precisely based on our networked work capabilities and sharing. Albucasis Traducciones takes advantage of the latest web development technologies (such as Ruby on Rails and AJAX based websites) to organize the workflow within our members. We can share technical support, ideas, experiences and work methods at any moment. This provides some advantages such as continuous learning which helps us in improving our services constantly.

We firmly believe that sharing is one of the best ways to improve, and we have decided to apply this principle to our work activity. We develop our tasks within a horizontal structure and we do without the classical vertical work structure.

As professional translators, we make every effort to improve our services and make the most effective use of our time. Thanks to the collaboration of different professional translators we get to offer a complete translation service to translation agencies and companies, who deal with our group as if the dealt with just one translator. This way, we also get to offer a multidisciplinary freelancer service, much more complete than the one we could offer if we always worked on our own.

We encourage our collaborators and clients to use Free Software at every stage of the translation and editing process. Not only because there are excellent Free Software tools, but also because they guarantee freedom over the choice of work methodology.

Also, we encourage the use of standard ISO formats like OpenDocument, which has many advantages for editing and preserves future rights over the work produced (so that we can open our own files in 50 years from now without problem, for example). This format has been recommended by the European Union, and many governments are considering its adoption.
